Happy New Year, Merry Christmas and all that.
Now, The hot topic, SOPA.
What is SOPA?? I keep hearing it all over the place lately, on the radio, on the telebox, in my local aquarium. Well, SOPA stands for (Stop Online Piracy Act). If you rearrange those letters you get SOAP.
But what does it mean? Basically, the US Congress are trying to pass a bill which will in effect dictate what parts of the web are avaiable to us. We will lose valuable resources, and to quote Ron Burgundy, it's "Kind of a big deal".
Lots of websites are protesting against this. Some are going to the extreme and going offline. Dubbed a SOPA Blackout. To give you an idea of what the web will be like if this bill passes.
